I'd like to apologize for the inactivity this year, I've been very busy. I started college earlier than I mentioned in the last blog entry, but it's no excuse for the inactivity. I've been managing the group's gallery, but I'm just not very reliable in keeping the club alive. I don't want to close the club down, I would never even consider it, but I also don't want the club to become dead.
I'd really appreciate some help in managing some of the club. I'm not saying you have to run the entire club, I'm just asking for help in running blog entries, future contests, and other club activities. I encourage independent blog entries among members. If you have an ongoing event you'd like to share with the members here, you are allowed to write a blog in our Group Journal about it.
Again, I'd appreciate whatever amount of help any of you have to offer, And I apologize once more for the club inactivity, Maybe, in the future, we can return to our old club activities, such as Sigur Ros Interpretations or Creative Minds. Until then, good luck to you all and have a lovely day.
Here in the Hopelandic Club, we explore the creativity of the human mind through our art, and hope to inspire others to push the limits of their imagination. We love and support the ability of the individual, as well as each other, and motivate others to find their own creativity and ability.
The Hopelandic Club is also a place for people who are inspired by anything or anyone, such as Tim Burton, Lauren Faust, Jhonen Vasquez, Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe, and many other creative minds.
So if you have not heard of the band, Sigur Ros, you may be wondering what "hopelandic" is. Well "hopelandic" is the English translation of "vonlenska", and it is a non-literal language created by the band that mainly focuses on the sound of language without the use of any real lyrics (similar to the use of scat-singing in jazz music). It was first used in their album Von, which translated into English means "hope".
Because Sigur Ros' hopelandic songs have no lyrics, they can be interpreted by the listener as anything they imagine it to be. That is why this group is called the Hopelandic Club, because it motivates others to use their imagination and search their own creativity.
Please no hate art. This club is meant to "love and support the ability of the individual, as well as each other", so let's not attempt to bring other members down.
Please no used-bases or traced-art. This club encourages art created by your own imagination, so please share your own original art. We will not judge you if you have a "fan character", but try and show others art that you created yourself. However, if you created a base or lineart for others to use, and it is your own creation, then that is acceptable.
If you ever have an idea for a contest, feel free to make a suggestion to the club founder, Strabius.
Art featured in the group's icon belong to (in order):
RebelionRoja, Aineska-Siwel, MisoNoodles, and Rinmeothichca.
Enjoy yourself, have a wonderful day, love life, and remember we should all be alive.
